Liz Sheehan, a school board director at New Hope-Solebury, was inducted as the 14th member of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association’s (PSBA) Allwein Society.
The Allwein Society is a recognition program honoring school directors who are outstanding leaders and advocates on behalf of public schools and students. This prestigious honor was created in 2011 in memory of Timothy M. Allwein, a former PSBA staff member who exemplified the integrity, dedication and commitment to advance political action for the benefit of public education.
Sheehan was inducted in late October at a New-Hope Solebury school board meeting. At this meeting, Nathan Mains, PSBA CEO, stated, “As our committee reviewed Liz’s nomination, they were blown away by her passion and dedication. She served as board president during a challenging time for school boards and school districts, but she led with tremendous grace, calmness and passion. She has been committed to connecting with legislators to share the challenges and successes of public education. We are pleased to honor Liz’s long-term service and induct her as the 14th member of the Allwein Society.”
In response to her induction, Sheehan stated, “I am honored and grateful to be recognized and to stand in the company of board members across PA whose commitment has been an inspiration to those of us in service.”
Sheehan also stated that she wanted to be a “role model for students to show them how they can effect change in their own community.”
PSBA applauds Sheehan for her service and commitment to public education and public school students.
