Legal Services
If a school district has a need, chances are that PSBA has a service, expert or program to meet that need.
The PSBA legal department offers public school entities a broad range of indispensable legal information and assistance.
Staff attorneys stay abreast of the latest developments in public school law and liability avoidance strategies, and are experienced in advising and representing public schools in litigation and legal matters. As a benefit of PSBA membership, these attorneys are available -- free of charge -- for consultation to member solicitors, school directors and administrators on general legal concepts, as well as on specific issues facing their districts.
Continuing Legal Education
PSBA offers a variety of school law training programs -- from expert-level programs geared to school officials and solicitors, to programs for non-attorney school personnel and boards. PSBA programs often provide continuing legal education credits. For questions about CLE credits or on programs offering CLEs, contact Stuart Knade Esq. (ext. 3377). PSBA members receive special notice of upcoming programs and discounts on all registration fees.

PSBA legal services are not a substitute for advice and assistance of the school district solicitor. PSBA legal services enhance the effectiveness of the solicitor, who can best advise about when retaining special counsel with particular expertise is appropriate. PSBA legal services staff does not seek or accept appointment as a school district’s regular solicitor.
