When new legislation passes, PSBA is seen as the leader in analyzing it and helping members make sense of it.

Pennsylvania's school boards have much in common, but face unique challenges, too. Often, these concerns are shaped by the types of communities they serve. Rural areas are confronted with different needs than the suburbs, and cities cope with issues all their own. The PSBA Forums Program is designed to provide board members the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss key issues and advise PSBA concerning the needs of districts with similar demographic characteristics.

The Forums Program, initiated by the PSBA’s Board of Directors in 1992, provides special opportunities for PSBA member districts to address their common needs through better planning and coordination of educational/inservice programs, publications and information sharing at all levels of the organization.

Forums Community Message Boards

Members can share issues, questions and news items with other PSBA members in districts of like demographic characteristics. The new message boards take the place of the Forums Listservs once restricted to members of the Forums Advisory Groups. All PSBA members having access to the members’ area now are able to view or participate in any of these unrestricted message boards, providing the opportunity for wider input and greater sharing of resources.
